Kayaking (see also Sea Kayaking and Surf Kayaking)

Bude is well served with kayaking environments. The local rural canal system provides the perfect safe location to introduce young and novice paddlers to the sport, the harbour area allows for more adventure but still within the safety of Summerleaze Bay and then there's the open ocean for Sea Kayaking expeditions and Surfing. Our coaches are some of the best in the country with many years of experience and high level BCU qualifications.

All year availability although access to some rivers is restricted to between October and March.

 


A large supply of general purpose, 'Wild Thing', kayaks, paddles, spraydecks, cagoules and buoyancy aids for novices and youth groups for use on the canal and Summerleaze bay. A fleet of sea kayaks. A number of specialist playboats and surf kayaks.

 


Youth group rates for groups of 10 or more £11.95
Main season half daily session rate £19.50
Individual / Small group rates vary from £25 to £80
BCU star award courses and conoe safety test on the Bude Canal £45 to £79
BCU Level 1 coach one day course £69
