Surf Kayaking

If you want to learn how to Surf Kayak or improve your skills then you couldn't go to anywhere better than Bude and Shoreline Outdoor Pursuits. Many of our team grew up with this sport non more so than Simon Hammond current World Surf Kayaking Champion and BCU level 5 Surf Kayak coach. The beaches and surf conditions make North Cornwall the perfect location for this sport all year round. Groups and individuals can be introduced to this sport using our 'Wild Thing' kayaks whilst the more experienced paddlers can learn how to improve their skills in their own craft and experience how custom built surf kayaks perform in the waves.

BCU Four & Five star training and assessments

Individuals and groups from age 12. Some experience of paddling is recommended which could be achieved by taking part in our canal based kayaking sessions. Competent kayakers who wish to further develop their skills or who wish to gain BCU qualifications.

A large supply of general purpose, 'Wild Thing', kayaks, paddles, spraydecks, cagoules and buoyancy aids for novices and youth groups for use on Bude's beaches. A number of specialist playboats and the latest Mega surf kayaks.


Youth group rates for groups of 10 or more £14.95
Main season half daily session rate £22.50
Individual / Small group rates vary from £25 to £80
Improvers courses and BCU 4 star courses £79 per day (group discounts available)
BCU Level 3 coach training and assessment two day courses from £130
