Bude lies at the heart of the Culm Coast, which stretches along the cliffs of North Cornwall and Devon and provides an array of amazingly folded and buckled cliffs. With the erosion of the sea these cliffs have been left with only the hardest rock layers protruding out into the ocean creating steep, narrow headlands and free standing fins.
These smooth slab-like cliff faces are perfect for abseiling. The top of the abseil offers a good flat start and a nice rounded edge to back over before getting onto the smooth slightly angled main face of the cliff. With these faces reaching over 100 feet in height the abseiler has plenty of time to enjoy their descent with the reassurance that the instructor always has them connected and controlled with an extra safety rope.
Shoreline has a dedicated abseil site just north of Crooklets Beach offering a 120 foot abseil down a smooth slabby cliff face. Two parallel abseils are often in operation so friends can abseil down together, reassuring each other as they go. There's always time to walk back to the top to enjoy more descents gaining confidence every time. This is a great confidence boosting activity ideal for schools, youth groups, families and friends and we also offer our services for charity events and fund raising activities.

Don't worry if you've never abseiled before. This activity is lead by a team of fully qualified and experienced rock climbing instructors who will guide you through each part of this activity. No experience is required and don't worry about feeling nervous as this is quite natural. We can accommodate a wide range of ages across the many rock climbing and abseiling activities but we'd recommend the following minimum ages based on the strength and endurance required for each activity :
