Our outdoor activities are at the heart of what we are all about. We can provide sessions as single, one-off experiences ideal for a fun morning or afternoon. We can run a series of single sport sessions to enable you to progress your skills a little further. We can build a multi-activity programme of any duration to cater for camping and residential trips to Bude. Sea & Surf Kayaking

Great in Any Weather
Come for a paddle around our local harbour and sheltered surf spots, paddling on our fleet of straight-running, robust, sit-on-top kayaks. We’ll work with the surf and sea conditions to give you the best paddling experience. We will explore the coastline around Bude then find the perfect spot to teach you how to surf kayak before paddling back along the bude canal to return back to our base.

At the heart of the beautiful Culm Coast, Bude has sea cliffs for everyone. For our first-timers, a short walk from Crooklets Beach, Maer High is the perfect introduction to top rope climbing with four different routes to try out. For more adventurous climbers just north of Bude is Vicarage Cliff, where an adventurous approach leads to an amazing slab of rock, which juts out into the ocean.

Learn to surf on one of the best surf beaches in the country! Crooklets Beach gives you plenty of space to avoid the crowds; our instructors will teach you the basics on the sand before launching you into the waves on our foam beginner boards. Throughout the session you’ll receive personal coaching to help you improve your surfing techniques from take-off, through standing to left and right-hand turns.

Let us lead you on a journey along the beautiful Bude canal on our sit-on-top kayaks. Along the way, our instructors will teach you plenty of useful paddling skills, give you the chance to practice your capsizing (if you wish!) and discover the fascinating wildlife and history of this unique waterway. Open Canoeing or Canadian Canoeing allows one or more people to paddle a large open-cockpit canoe. The other main distinction between an open canoe and a kayak is the types of paddles used; canoes use single-bladed paddles whilst kayaks use a double-ended paddle.
